Mexico Currency
This piece is a currency redesign for Mexico. For the redesigning of this currency I want to continue maintaining the bright elaborate colors seen throughout the country. In addition, the currency is created to direct to an audience that feels they can relate to the currency as a part of their national pride. The colors are also a representation of the bright colors used in folk art and murals seen throughout Mexico. The use of the dahlia flower is to represent the nations flower and natural beauty. Frida Kahlo represents a strong sense of pride in Mexico and is often seen and respected throughout art and Mexican culture. The currency overall communicates the culture of Mexico and the essences of its diversity and synthetic blend of both native and Spanish influence that makes up the country. *Illustrations credited to Mimi Ilnitskaya and Johanna Stull. Illustrations were found through research on art that was representational of modern Mexican folk art to create the overall aesthetic for this design.
